ut of Africa and into our hearts describes the journey made by Marketing Project Manager Eoin Vincent of Olympus NDT Waltham on his trip to Tanzania. Eoin recently traveled to the East African nation to create a photographic record of orphanages and hospitals in support of the Tanzanian Hope Fund, a charitable organization dedicated to improving the circumstances of the people of Tanzania. During his stay, Eoin visited 18 facilities and snapped nearly 3000 photographs.
Eoin began his journey by flying into Nairobi, Kenya, and then traveled by bus to Arusha in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro and on to the village of Nkoaranga. One of Eoin’s stops was at the New Paradise Orphanage where youngsters left homeless, frequently by the HIV/AIDS-related death of parents, are provided with a home and the basics of life.

For Eoin, his time in Tanzania brought an awareness of how much progressive nations have and how fortunate their citizens are. Eoin assures us though that Tanzanians hold great hope for their future, enjoy the blessings of the land that is after all humanity’s homeland, and face each splendid African sunrise with a joie de vivre that a king might envy. |
