Please see the following:
Descriptions:
When you connect camera to computer, [Removable
Disk] icon appear in [My Computer].
Then, when you double-click [Removable Disk]
icon, once in a while you may receive an error message: [Drive:\
is not accessible. Incorrect function.]. In this case, the
computer might be in trouble to allocate the drive letter such as D:
or E: of [Removable Disk] properly.
If you cannot access to [Removable Disk]
(digital camera), it may become able to access by changing the allocation
of the drive letter.
The following image shows the case when [Removable Disk] was properly
recognized.
If any external memory device such MO drive is connected
to computer, you may find several [Removable Disk]
icons. In this case, the one which appeared at the time you connect
the digital camera is the proper drive. (In other words, when you disconnect
your digital camera from your computer, the proper icon will be disappeared.)
Please see the following steps to change the allocation.
Change the allocation of [Removable Disk] drive letter.
Please follow the steps below:
- Check the current drive letter.
At first, please check the current drive letter. Please click open [My
Computer] and check all drive letters (C, D, etc.) beside/below
each drive icon. (Please check them when camera is connected to computer.)
- Open [Control Panel]
Double-click open [Control Panel]
icon appeared in [My Computer].
- Double-click open [Administrative Tools] icon.
When you open [Control Panel], several
icons appear. Double-click open [Administrative
Tools].
- Double-click open [Computer Management] icon.
When you open [Administrative Tools],
several icons appear again. Double-click open [Computer
Management].
- Open [Disk Management] folder.
Tree view appears on the left side of [Computer
Management] window. Click open [Disk
Management] under [Storage].
- Right-click the drive you are going to change.
[Disk Management] appears on the
right side of [Computer Management]
window. Select [Removable Disk] drive
from the menu.
- Select [Change Drive Letter and Paths...].
After you right-click the drive, you will find several terms from
the menu. Click [Change Drive Letter and Path...].
- Open [Change Drive Letter and Path...].
[Change Drive Letter and Paths for (<Drive>:)]
window appears. Click [Edit...] button
to edit drive letters.
- Change of drive letters.
[Edit Drive Letter or Path] window
appears. Select [Assign a drive letter:] and
change the drive letter in the pull-down list beside it.
- Requested to confirm the change.
Confirmation for changing the drive letter appears. Click [Yes]
button to proceed.
- Reconfirmation of the change.
Please check the drive is properly displayed in [My
Computer] by the change of drive letter. Generally when
drive letters become not duplicating, new drive should appear. Then
please double-click the drive icon to see if the drive can be normally
opened.
Now the procedure is all complete.
Caution:
Please make sure you do NOT change
the letter of drive which is other than digital camera; otherwise,
computer program may not work properly.
