What is the difference between the MMF-1 and MMF-2?

Answer:
The MMF-1 and MMF-2 Four Thirds-to-Micro Four Thirds lens adapters differ in weight and color.

While retaining the function and performance of its predecessor, the MMF-2 attained a lighter weight by re-examining the inner structure of the adapter.
The MMF-2 also provides a new color option that fits the design of Four Thirds lenses and PEN bodies.

- The same image (Olympus' standard image) is used to calculate the number of storable pictures and file size in each mode.
- The number of storable pictures depends on the image quality and the type of memory card.
- The number of storable pictures in this table differs from the number of remaining pictures displayed on the LCD. This table shows the approximate number, but the camera shows the maximum (up to 9999).

- The maximum file size of a movie is 2 GB. This is a limitation of the AVI file format. The shooting may stop before it reaches the capacity (the maximum file size) depending on the memory card you use.
- A Speed Class 6 SD or SDHC card is recommended for movie recording.
- When shooting movies with an Art Filter, the frame rate varies based on the selected filter.
- When attaching the camera to a lens with its own image stabilizer function, turn off the image stabilizer function of either the lens or the camera.

Question :
Can I use my OM-series lenses on the E-PL1?

Answer:
Olympus OM-Series lenses can be mounted on the E-PL1 with the optional MF-2 OM Adapter. OM-Series lenses are unable to communicate with the firmware in the E-PL1camera body. Therefore, their use has some restrictions.

How do I attach the eyecup EP-9 to the VF-2?

Answer:
The following procedure explains how to attach the eyecup EP-9 to the electronic viewfinder VF-2.

  1. Remove the diopter corrector ring from the VF-2. Diopter corrector ring
  2. Hold the EP-9 with one hand and the VF-2 with the other. Align the mark on the EP-9 with the mark on the VF-2, and then slide the rim of the EP-9 over the VF-2.
    Align the marks
    Tips:
    To attach the eyecup easily: Rotate part a (which is shown in the illustration above) until the mark is centered between the plus (+) and minus (-) symbols. Then, place the eyecup over a, covering the mark.
  3. Without releasing the VF-2, reach around the eyecup with your thumb and support the VF-2 by pressing lightly on the inside of the eyecup.
  4. Using your other thumb and index finger, grip the outside edge of the eyecup. Little by little,working in a circle, pull the rim of the eyecup over the VF-2.
  5. Check whether the EP-9 is properly attached to the VF-2.

What are the differences among the image stabilizer modes?

Answer:
You can select from three image stabilizer modes: I.S.1, I.S.2 and I.S.3. In the default setting, the image stabilizer is set to OFF.

Mode
OFF  Image stabilizer is OFF.
I.S.1 Image stabilizer is ON.
I.S.2 The image stabilizer corrects only the vertical (the vertical ) camera shake.
This allows you to track the subject by panning the camera horizontally. 
I.S.3 The image stabilizer corrects only the horizontal (the horizontal) camera shake.
This allows you to track the subject by panning the camera vertically. 
When attaching the camera to a lens other than a Micro Four Thirds or Four Thirds lens, the image stabilizer corrects the camera shake based on the focal length you have set.

- You can set the focal length from 8mm to 1000mm.
- Set the focal length to the value (or the nearest value) that is displayed on the attached lens.

Note:
- The image stabilizer cannot correct excessive camera shake or camera shake that occurs when using an extremely slow shutter speed. Use a tripod so your camera remains steady when shooting.
- When attaching the camera to a lens with its own image stabilizer function, turn off the image stabilizer function of either the lens or the camera.
- The image stabilizer will not operate when you shoot with a shutter speed of greater than 2 seconds.
