Detail of the update
  Firmware Ver.2.17V has incorporated the following upgrade.  
- Raised up the maximum allowable volume.
 
*

Turn down the volume to the minimum when wearing earphones to avoid stimulus to ear.

* When you turn up the volume too high, it may cause a hearing disorder or a hearing loss.
- Improved the rare case that the volume is out of control in using with some remote control.
- Improved the case that the device does not play back the tracks of a music album in numerical order.
- Improved the case that occasionally there is some noise in the MP3 music files.
 
* Upgrade history *
Firmware Ver.2.13 has incorporated the following upgrade.
- Resolve the "Fatal System Error 004".
- When updating the available track information by synchronizing with the m:trip, the startup window of the MR-100 freezes OR the LED lamp is kept lighting up and the power of the device cannot be turned OFF.
- Unstable operationality with the use of a remote control.
- Acceptability for the special symbols such as "/" or "&" in track information entry.
Notice During Operation
  - MR-100 may be damaged if the update is unsuccessful. Please read the instructions on this page as well as the instructions and notices in the manual handbook carefully.  
  - You cannot return to the previous version of firmware after the update.

Preparation
  - MR-100  
  - Cradle  
  - USB cable (Included in the digital camera original package)  
  - AC adapter  
  - PC with minimum specifications listed below  
 
  -  Operating systems: Pre-installed Windows 2000 Professional (Service Pack 3 or later) or Windows XP Professional/ Home Edition
  -  Built-in USB port.
  NOTE: Use of a USB hub during the update is not supported and may result in damage to MR-100 and the firmware.

Installation Procedure Summary
  The installation process will follow the installation summary below. Be sure to read the on-screen instructions during the update.  
  1. Download the Firmware Update Software  
    After accepting the license agreement, please download the file to your PC.  
  2. Update the Firmware  
    Double-click on the downloaded file. The firmware update process will begin.  
  3. Connect to your computer  
    Connect the cradle to the computer using the bundled USB cable, and place your MR-100 in its cradle.  
  4. Synchronize between MR-100 and m:trip  
    Please follow the on-screen instructions to synchronize between MR-100 and m:trip.
* If you use without synchronizing, management data may not be updated. Be sure to synchronize MR-100 and m:trip.
 
  5. Transfer the new firmware into MR-100  
    A firmware update comfirmation dialog window will appear. To follow the procedure on the screen, firmware updater is transferred to MR-100.  
  6. Remove the USB cable from the computer  
    After removing the USB cable from the computer, MR-100 will automatically begin updating the firmware.
* DO NOT disconnect the AC adapter while the firmware is updating automatically.
  7. Confirm the update was successful
    Please follow the on-screen instructions to make sure of the new firmware version.
License Agreement
  NOTE: Please read the following terms and conditions carefully before loading down this Software.  
  Any user ("User") is deemed to have acknowledged and accepted the following terms and conditions which are proposed by OLYMPUS IMAGING CORPORATION ("Olympus"), when the User loads down the Software in the User's computer, and simultaneously, this Software License Agreement are deemed to be fully executed by and between the User and Olympus.  
  1. Subject to the terms and conditions herein contained, Olympus shall grant to User a non-exclusive and non-transferable license to use the Software and the copy thereof (hereinafter, the copy of the Software are included in the Software) only for the purpose of applying to the Olympus products which is introduced and accepted by Olympus.  
  2. User shall be prohibited to do or perform the following matters.  
    (1) To make any copy of the Software, whether in whole or in part, for any other purpose than back-up purpose.  
    (2) To sell, distribute or upload the Software, whether in whole or in part.  
    (3) To change, modify, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software, whether in whole or in part.  
    (4) To rent, lease or sublicense the Software, whether in whole or in part.  
    (5) To export the Software, directly or indirectly, whether in whole or in part, without obtaining necessary approvals of relevant governmental authority in Japan or in any relevant country.  
  3. Any right, title or interest in and to the Software shall be owned by or vested to Olympus or its licensor respectively.  
  4. USER ACKNOWLEGDES AND UNDERSTANDS THAT THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED TO USER ON AN "AS-IS" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:  
    (1) WARRANTIES FOR MERCHANTABILITY AND/OR FITNESS FOR A USER'S PARTICULAR PURPOSE.  
    (2) WARRANTY FOR NO BUG, ERROR, FAILURE OR DEFECTS IN THE SOFTWARE; OR  
    (3) WARRANTIES FOR NON-INFRINGEMENT OF RIGHTS OR INTERESTS OF ANY THIRD PARTY, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHT.  
  5. IN NO EVENT SHALL OLYMPUS BE LIABLE NOR RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES SUFFERED OR INCURRED BY USER OR ANY OTHER THIRD PARTY (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, GENERAL, SPECIAL, DIRECT, INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL LOSS OR DAMAGES INCLUDING DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF BUSINESS PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF BUSINESS INFORMATION AND THE LIKE), ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE OF THE SOFTWARE.  
  6. If User fails in complying with any terms and conditions under this Agreement, Olympus may terminate this Agreement and seek to remedy for any loss or damage, including damages for loss of business profit, business interpretation, loss of business information and the like) or loss of profit incurred by Olympus, arising out of or in connection with such User's failure. In such event, User shall immediately destroy or return to Olympus any and all copies thereof, whether in whole or in part.
